There's a path near my house, where I often walk the dogs. A few weeks ago, I shot some photo's there. At one side of the path there's rye (I think), at the other side there are potato plants. Specially in the morning you get some pretty pictures.
De laatste twee weken viel het me ineens op dat er steeds meer 'platte plekken' in de rogge verschenen. Deze foto is vanmorgen gemaakt:
The past two weeks I noticed that there are more and more 'flattened spots' in the rye. This photo is made this morning:
Vooraan zie je goed hoe de rogge plat ligt. De donkere plekken op de achtergrond zijn ook 'platte plekken'. Blijkbaar komen de herten hier 's nachts wel eens overnachten. Af en toe zien we ze lopen. Dat blijft een mooi gezicht. We roepen nog elke keer wijzend met de vinger: "Kijk een hert!". Ik kan me wel voorstellen dat de boer er misschien minder blij me is, nu ik het roggeveld zo zie.
Up front you can see clearly how flattened the rye is. The dark spaces in the back are allso 'flattened spots'. Apparantely dears come and stay the night here. Now and then we see them. We still call out every time, pointing them out with our fingers: "Look a dear!". But now I see what they can do to crops, I can understand that farmers aren't allways that enthousiastic about them.
De aardappelplanten zijn inmiddels uitgebloeid. Hoewel ik in de omgeving voornamelijk witte bloesem zag, staat in het veld naast Het Pad een aardappelsoort met paarse / lila bloesem. Ik ben benieuwd welke aardappel dat is...
The blossoming of the potato plants is over by now. Allthough I mostly saw white blossom in our area, in the field next to The Path there's a kind of potato with purple flowers. I'm curious which kind of potato that is...
UPDATE: Het kan ook zijn (kreeg ik te horen) dat de 'platte plekken' in de rogge van de wind komen. Wie weet het antwoord?
It's possible the flattende spots in the rye are from the wind. Who knows the answer?
